Uses of palm oil

Two types of oil are obtained from the oil palm fruit: the oil extracted from the fleshy pulp, and the palm kernel oil which is obtained from the nut. Each one of them has different physical-chemical characteristics, physiological effects and uses.

Thanks to its physical properties, palm oil and its fractions are nutritious and versatile raw materials with many uses globally in the food, oleochemical and chemical industries, and are used to make products such as:
